Yesterday Room 17 made clothes out of recycled rubbish. We collected rubbish from home and brought it to school and made it into clothes. We are going to have an assembly wearing our Wearable Arts to show the school. We have put our photos into a picturetrail.<br /><div style="MARGIN: auto; WIDTH: 360px; VISIBILITY: visible"><embed style="WIDTH: 360px; HEIGHT: 300px" height="300" name="Boxes" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" align="middle" width="360" src="http://flash.picturetrail.com/pflicks/3/spflick.swf" quality="high" flashvars="ql=2&src1=http://pic90.picturetrail.com:80/VOL2324/13072969/flicks/1/8260948" wmode="transparent" bgcolor="#000000" allowscriptaccess="sameDomain"></embed><br /><p style="MARGIN-TOP: 10px; WIDTH: 360px; HEIGHT: 24px; whitespace: no-wrap"><a href="http://picturetrail.com/misc/counter.fcgi?cID=924&link=/photoFlick/samples/pflicks=shtml"><img border="0" align="left" src="http://pics.picturetrail.com/res/pflicks/pt.gif" /></a><a href="http://picturetrail.com/misc/counter.fcgi?cID=925&link=/photoFlick/samples/pflicks=shtml"><img style="MARGIN-LEFT: 5px" border="0" align="left" src="http://pics.picturetrail.com/static/images/pt2.gif" /></a></p><br /></div><br />MB and SF<br /><div style="MARGIN: auto; WIDTH: 360px; VISIBILITY: visible"><embed style="WIDTH: 360px; HEIGHT: 350px" height="300" name="Stack" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" align="middle" width="360" src="http://flash.picturetrail.com/pflicks/3/spflick.swf" quality="high" flashvars="ql=2&src1=http://pic90.picturetrail.com:80/VOL2324/13072969/flicks/1/8260955" wmode="transparent" bgcolor="#000000" allowscriptaccess="sameDomain"></embed><br /><p style="MARGIN-TOP: 10px; WIDTH: 360px; HEIGHT: 24px; whitespace: no-wrap"><a href="http://picturetrail.com/misc/counter.fcgi?cID=924&link=/photoFlick/samples/pflicks=shtml"><img border="0" align="left" src="http://pics.picturetrail.com/res/pflicks/pt.gif" /></a><a href="http://picturetrail.com/misc/counter.fcgi?cID=925&link=/photoFlick/samples/pflicks=shtml"><img style="MARGIN-LEFT: 5px" border="0" align="left" src="http://pics.picturetrail.com/static/images/pt2.gif" /></a></p><br /></div><br />HK and BV<br /><br />As well as creating a picturetrail our group also made a voicethread. We learnt about New Zealand author, Erin Devlin. This fabulous author wrote 'As Kuku Slept', which is a story about our native Wood Pigeon, the Keruru. The story tells us about the dangers facing the Keruru, especially from the threat of possums. This beautiful native bird is now a threatened species.<br />We created fantastic native bird puppets and hope that you all get the message about looking after our Keruru and all our native birds.<br />Our puppets are cool aren't they?<br />Can you work out what native birds they are?</strong> </span>Mrs Rhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12768214236733644881noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5369640002291837756.post-48869184278985749822010-03-24T15:25:00.000-07:002010-03-25T17:13:34.233-07:00New Zealand Book Review<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_hCFm-7uqnQ8/S6qS7AFVqJI/AAAAAAAAAAU/wy8gHm-f3hU/s1600/DSC09953.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5452331841217734802" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_hCFm-7uqnQ8/S6qS7AFVqJI/AAAAAAAAAAU/wy8gHm-f3hU/s320/DSC09953.JPG" /></a>The author of this book is very well known you’ve probably read loads of her books. Yes, she is Margaret Mahy. It is called Kaitangata Twitch. The story is based on a young girl, about 12 years old, called Meredith Skerritt. A very bad, mean man called Marriott Carswell wanted to change their simple town, Kaitangata.<br />Meredith’s Dad is trying everything he can to stop Marriott who has recently been elected on the council which isn’t really working. Meredith has been hearing Kaitanga talking saying “Flick! Need feed! Need feed!” She needs a plan to stop him changing Kaitangata Island a small island which they can see from their house.<br />50 years ago a girl named Shelly Bentry disappeared at her 10th birthday on Kaitangata Island Meredith has been noticing some weird things. What will she do to save her beloved Island? This book review is written by B M and N B.<br /><div></div><br /><br /><br /><div></div>Room 17http://www.blogger.com/profile/07895982527251310316noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5369640002291837756.post-77393182620641504802010-02-11T23:44:00.000-08:002010-02-12T15:46:38.752-08:00Meet Scruffy - Our Room 17 Mascot<span style="color:#000099;"></span><span style="color:#000099;"></span><strong></strong><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_3RDwsTHlvEs/S3UKCndPykI/AAAAAAAAAEM/rQ4RnYy3vio/s1600-h/IMG_0511.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5437263165187410498" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_3RDwsTHlvEs/S3UKCndPykI/AAAAAAAAAEM/rQ4RnYy3vio/s400/IMG_0511.jpg" /></a><br /><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;color:#000000;"><strong>Welcome back to our class blog. What do you think of our newest member of Room 17? This is Scruffy - our Room 17 class mascot. Scruffy visits us most mornings. She gives the room a bit of a sniff over, licks the kids, (especially H.W)but prefers to go home with Emma rather than stay and do maths with us! It's just as well the teacher in Room 17 loves dogs. </strong></span>Mrs Rhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12768214236733644881noreply@blogger.com6
