The author of this book is very well known you’ve probably read loads of her books. Yes, she is Margaret Mahy. It is called Kaitangata Twitch. The story is based on a young girl, about 12 years old, called Meredith Skerritt. A very bad, mean man called Marriott Carswell wanted to change their simple town, Kaitangata.Meredith’s Dad is trying everything he can to stop Marriott who has recently been elected on the council which isn’t really working. Meredith has been hearing Kaitanga talking saying “Flick! Need feed! Need feed!” She needs a plan to stop him changing Kaitangata Island a small island which they can see from their house.
